Whenever I want something in life, I go full force. I’ve never been one to go half way – for better or worse, for juice cleanses or sugar feasts (oops!), for late night hustles or relaxing days. When you pursue your dreams, you do everything you can to make it happen, right? Like many of you, this concept of taking action was drilled into my mind. You had to always be doing something. “What’s the next step? “Keep putting one foot in front of the other” “Keep taking massive action steps” “Just do it’. Sounds motivating, right? Not quite so.
What action do you take, when nothing you do can alter the outcome except the decree of Allah? That was the situation that I found myself in.
If you’re anything like the women I coach, you’re doing everything you can. You’ve read all the books, attended all the courses and events, prayed tahajjud, made abundant dua during accepted times, taken all the action necessary, sought advice from other women, scholars, mentors… there isn’t a stone left untouched.
Yet you’re deepest duas and heart’s desires are still yet to happen.
Despite doing everything you possibly can, sometimes there is nothing more that you can do.
Waiting for Allah to respond is an action too.
There’s a time to wait.
And there’s a time to act.
There’s a rhythm to this universe. You can’t out do it. You can’t out do nature.
All the actions in the world isn’t going to bring forth something that wasn’t destined for you at the time.
Everything will come at it’s appointed time.
At times, all that you’re required to do is to wait.
Wait lovingly.
Wait without missing out on your life.
Wait whilst enjoying the pleasures of day to day life.
Wait whilst loving each and every day to the fullest.
Don’t let the waiting stop you from loving life.
Don’t put your life on pause because your waiting for something to happen.
Let nature run it’s course.
Let people come in their own time.
Let exciting opportunities come your way instead of desperately chasing them.
Ask Allah for guidance. Ask Allah to show you the next step if there need be. Not every situation requires you to do something. If for whatever reason, something is not meant to be, you’ll know in your heart when it’s time to pivot and move on – you’ll know it. Trust Allah and be overflowing with happiness with your life right now – those two things will bring forth your duas faster than frantically taking actions lingered in fear.
P.s. Listening to your intuition + taking heartfelt actions is where it gets really powerful. When we let go and have faith in Allah that things are going to work out, that’s when they usually do – when you’re least thinking about it because you’re madly in love with the life you have right now. “Don’t let the waiting stop you from loving life” – this is such a strong and relevant point to make. Life does not stop because we are waiting for an answer. This is what leads to sadness.
Thanks for a beuatiful post

Thank you for your insights xx
This is so beautiful. It connected with me because I feel like you described the ‘going, going, going” rhythm I had in my life a few years ago…and I was rushing by everything on my way towards what I thought I wanted. Thanks for voicing your feelings so eloquently 🙂
Thank you for your lovely reflection and kind words – I’m so glad this resonated with you xx
I love this. Agreed at time I want everything now, I dont have the patience to wait for things, I want to see the fruit of my labor until I remind myself that my destiny has already been written and the ink has dried. I have to wait for what is mine and whatever isn’t mine I have to accept will never reach me. Beautiful post, your words are like poetry.

You’re absolutely right sis- waiting for Allah’s response is an action too. It is a choice to be patient and to trust in Allah to lead you to what is good for you.
100% ???
I think a lot of people are impatient these days, they want things to happen immediately! Completely agree with this: All the actions in the world isn’t going to bring forth something that wasn’t destined for you at the time.
Yeah don’t we all ? hehehe It’s definitely a conscious practise to teach yourself to be patient and that things take time x
Masha Allah sister! Perfectly written, hitting straight to the heart!
And these lines::
There’s a rhythm to this universe. You can’t out do it. You can’t out do nature.
Don’t let the waiting stop you from loving life.
Don’t put your life on pause because your waiting for something to happen.
These are so beautiful! Many people forget about their life… Life that they have right now, in their hands, but their wait for desires to be fulfilled, they miss out their today!they forget, that when you’ve prayed to your Rabb, it’s sure that He will answer just at the right time. Thanks for a beautiful reminder!
